WHO points to fewer newborns dying worldwide but more progress needed

A report published by the WHO shows newborn deaths have decreased from 4.6 million in 1990 to 3.3 million in 2009, acknowledging increased investments in health care for women and children over the past decade since the adoption of the Millennium Development Goals.
