UN Secretary General leads UN call for action to end violence against women
In a statement marking International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on November 25, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon called upon “all governments to make good on their pledges to end all forms of violence against women and girls in all parts of the world”. This appeal reinforces the recent launch of UN Women’s COMMIT initiative, which asks governments to make national commitments addressing the critical issue of violence against women and girls.
