On UN Day, Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon calls for renewed commitment to building a better world for all
Today is United Nations Day, marking the anniversary of the day in 1945 when the United Nations officially came into being. Sixty-seven years later, the United Nations continues to work toward solving the world’s greatest challenges, including barriers to women’s and children’s health. “On this UN Day,” UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said, “let us reaffirm our individual commitment and our collective resolve to live up to the ideals of the United Nations Charter and build a better world for all.” Read more.
