Manila Declaration highlights regional ambitions for women’s and children’s health
A recent Asia-Pacific Leadership and Policy Dialogue for Women’s and Children’s Health resulted in widespread support for the development of a “Manila Declaration”, setting out concrete, measurable actions to enhance regional cooperation in key areas. Some key priority issues for the region also emerged from the meeting including: greater attention to interventions, addressing adolescent health, family planning, and newborn survival and nutrition, especially through greater attention to innovative approaches in partnership with the private sector and strong attention to addressing inequities.
