In 2020, Every Woman Every Child celebrates 10 years of progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals. Launched by Ban Ki-moon, former UN Secretary-General, Every Woman Every Child is an unprecedented global movement that mobilizes multi-lateral partnerships and action for health challenges facing women, children and adolescents around the world.

This pillar aims to end preventable deaths by keeping more mothers, newborns and children alive by providing the best maternal, newborn and child care, and by ending epidemics of HIV, TB, malaria, neglected tropical disease and other communicable disease and reducing premature mortality.
This pillar supports the goal of ensuring health and well-being by addressing the nutritional needs of all children, adolescents and women, especially mothers. Universal access to sexual and reproductive healthcare services are an important element of thriving, as well as access to quality early childhood development.
This pillar is about expanding enabling environments by improving access to quality education, creating safe environments free from abuse, discrimination and violence, access to clean water, improved scientific research and technological capabilities, legal identity for all and enhanced global partnership for sustainable development.
High-Level Steering Group
To help provide leadership and inspire ambitious action for the health of women, children and adolescents, as well as encourage collaboration and integration with relevant areas of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the UN Secretary-General established a High-level Advisory Group for Every Woman Every Child.
