Center for Interfaith Action on Global Poverty (CIFA)
Ten Promises to Our Children, launched by the Center for Interfaith Action on Global Poverty (CIFA) and Religions for Peace (RfP), is a commitment to engage religious communities around the world to save children’s lives through ten concrete and specific acts. These are ten pragmatic things within the control of families and communities that we can all do. These ten priority behaviors are endorsed by UNICEF and other development agencies. They are vital to saving the lives of children and reducing the burden of disease, and they can be applied almost anywhere. Currently, over 300 religious leaders from different faith traditions and more than 91 faith-based organizations from around the world, including many RfP affiliates, have already made their global, multi-religious commitment to adopt and promote these ten behaviors. CIFA and RfP, working in partnership with donor agencies and development organizations, will expand the signatories to the Ten Promises pledge and seek to equip parents, families and communities with practical tools to translate Ten Promises into ten successes in child survival.
