Gathering Storm: Women’s, Children’s & Adolescents’ Health in Climate-Induced Humanitarian Settings

WHEN: 22 February 2017 | 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

WHERE: Conference Room 11, UN Headquarters, Floor 1B

BACKGROUND

The Permanent Missions of the United Arab Emirates and Norway to the United Nations, in partnership with Every Woman Every Child, are convening a high-level panel to integrate implementation discussions across the climate and health agenda—and identify the steps to ensure that women, children, and adolescents are at their hearts. The panel will consider two main climate-linked drivers of humanitarian settings, with disproportionate health impacts on women, adolescents, and children: harsher and erratic weather, as well as coastal change, and the spread of disease.

This event will be hosted by:

H.E. Mrs. Lana Nusseibeh, Permanent Representative of the United Arab Emirates to the United Nations

H.E. Mr. Geir O. Pedersen, Permanent Representative of Norway to the United Nations

This is an open event.
