Online Consultation: Draft Operational Framework for the Global Strategy for Women’s, Children’s & Adolescents’ Health
The Strategy and Coordination Group for the Global Strategy has requested the Government of India, Partners in Population and Development and UNICEF to co-chair the process of developing an Operational Framework. The Operational Framework aims to be a resource to support governments, the private sector, and civil society to implement the Global Strategy within countries, integrating its action areas into national and sub-national plans and programming, with a focus on the first five years of implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, from 2016-2020. The current draft has been developed by the co-chairs with the support of a writing group drawn from partners from governments, civil society, the private sector and development partners, and has been informed by a number of consultations.
Comments are now sought on the current draft, from representatives of government, civil society, the private sector, academia, youth groups, and, as individual citizens, to inform what should be in the Operational Framework for the Global Strategy.
The draft Operational Framework is available for review and feedback from the 20th of November until the 1st of December. The document can be downloaded by clicking the image below.
Please consider the following questions in reviewing the draft:
- What important themes are missing from the document?
- What types of guidance, tools, and other resources are most important and useful to national governments and development partners as they work to align national programmes and strategies with the Global Strategy’s goals and targets?
- How can regional and global development agencies work together to best support nationally-led efforts to accelerate maternal, child and adolescent health
Please send feedback on these and other issues to email@example.com , with the title ‘OF feedback’ in the subject line. For feedback to be considered for the next version of the Operational Framework, all comments must be received by the 1st of December 2015.
Comments will be shared with the Operational Framework’s writing group and will inform the final drafting of this important document, which is expected to be completed and disseminated in early 2016. The Global Strategy and the Operational Framework will also inform discussions by Member States at the 2016 World Health Assembly on what they require to implement action on women’s, children’s and adolescents’ health.
